Citizenship-by-Investment Program

The Cyprus Citizenship-by-Investment Program provides the opportunity for applicants to obtain the Cypriot citizenship within six months after the submission of the citizenship application. The main applicant and investor, in turn, is required to make a significant economic investment in the country. With the status of an EU citizen, the successful applicants are able to enjoy the benefits of visa-free access to 173 countries, and the right to live, work and study in any countries of the European Union.

Requirements

The investor is required to invest in one of the following assets worth a minimum of EUR 2,000,000:

Investment in real estate, developments and infrastructure projects, or

2

Investment into Cypriot alternative investment funds or financial assets, or

3

Purchase, establishment or participation in Cypriot businesses and companies, or

4

A combination of any of the above, provided that the total investment will amount up to at least EUR 2,000,000

Furthermore, the applicant must possess a permanent privately-owned residence in the country, worth a minimum of EUR 500.000 for an indefinite period of time. In case that the applicant proceeds with the real estate investment option, this residence can be included in the EUR 2,000,000 investment.

In addition, all applicants must be free from criminal record, fraud, malpractice, financial fraud or indemnities.

Important Points to Consider

Applicants who chose to qualify through a EUR 2,000,000 private residence purchase, are permitted to liquidate and replace the private residence with a EUR 500,000 property after three years.

The main applicant must possess a permanent privately-owned residence in the country, worth a minimum of EUR 500.000 for an indefinite period of time.
